What info can the US see at the border?

I am travelling to the states, and formerly had a criminal record. I have done record checks that have come back clean, and when my name and birthdate were typed into CPIC, nothing came up. Does the US border have access to local police records? The officer searched me in their database, and was able to find me (no charges though) Will the border agent be able to see anything if he does a record search on me?
