Granite countertop opening around sink is too large, repairable?

Our granite counter top installer used the template that came with our kitchen sink to cut the sink opening. It is too large. Now the sink and counter top is not flush. Who is at fault? Manufacturer? Is it repairable? Any suggestions to fix this problem?
