One More Spanish Question...?

Okay, I just asked a question about ser. But then I realized. I completely forgot about Conocer and Saber. I had it in my notes from when I took my Spanish cl this year, but I just can't seem to remember what the differences of them were. My Spanish teacher said they were similar, but were ment for different sentances. Could one of you tell me just what they mean? I think I remember how to conjugate it, I think..
