Contact lens question: Do I need toric or can I get away with regular contact lenses??[Prescription included]?

You are borderline for needing toric lenses. The general rule of thumb is .75 cyl or more. You only exceed that by .25 in the right eye which isn't much. What you need to consider is this- do they improve your vision enough to make it worth giving up the comfort of spherical lenses? Toric lenses are not only more expensive but also less comfortable. My suggestion would be to try the toric lenses for a couple of weeks (your eye dr. should give you a free trial pair) and also ask for a trial pair of spherical . That way you can see the difference between the two and decide if torics will be worth the extra expense and decreased comfort. And this I know for sure!! Good luck.
