Is there any way to make the Middle East Peaceful?

Bill Clinton and other presidents have tried negotiations and reasoning, but that failed miserably. The Bushes have tried military force and that is failing. Other countries have tried various tactics to bring peace to the Middle East, but they have all failed. The hatred between these various Muslim sects and between the Arabs and Israelites goes back centuries. How do you counter centuries of hatred among people who are determined to destroy each other? I had a friend who once erroneously said that we should turn the Middle East into one giant sheet of gl. So, is there any way to make the Middle East Peaceful?
