Can you convert mp3 songs into the .wav file format to increase quality?

I have a lot of mp3 songs and I want to play them on a good sound system. i was wondering if converting mp3 files to wav files would increase the quality since .wav files are not compressed. If not, is there some other way to make the sound quality of mp3s better?
